Ever see that commercial with Pinocchio acting as an insincere motivational speaker?
He’s on stage telling each person “… I see nothing, but untapped potential in each of you.” Their smiles steadily get bigger and wider while their heads start enthusiastically nodding. As his nose grows longer, the smiles quickly turn upside down into frowns.
Did that puppet boy really lie?
Yes. Yes because Pinocchio didn’t believe in the crowd. Not only did he lie, he judged them on their surface appearance and tried to appear to be the expert (guru) instead of helping the crowd see why and understand that they are, in fact, all born with potential. A potential that can be grown into possibility over time, but only when we believe it.
If we don’t start seeing that all of us have unlimited possibility that starts with a seed of potential; we’ll just “safely” exist (accept mediocrity in the known) and never feel truly alive (achieve greatness in the unknown). Living in the known or unknown is a personal choice and the unknown requires a serious commitment to enjoy continual growth. A growth process that I, personally, find extremely gratifying and controllable through the "Power Of Choice." Better choices increase possibilities for a better life; one choice at a time.
Essentially, possibility is simply the ability to be possible.
Possibility which can be tapped into at anytime.
Possibility which can and will inspire you and others.
Possibility which can be limited or expanded depending on the level and tone of your thoughts, beliefs, words and actions.
Therefore, if you can accept a change is needed followed by slowly noticing and changing your level and tone of your thoughts, beliefs, words and actions; you will see new possibilities unfold.
Our old reality was based on images backing up the belief that seeing is believing. Our new reality is believing and then seeing.
Here are 3 simple steps to continually ignite potential until possibility becomes seen in action to form a new habit:
1. Believe in yourself (can-do attitude).
2. Figure out specifically what to achieve (1 intention/1 day).
3. Commit to the process (continual learning).
